In 1950, Amplifon, founded by Charles Holland, focused on importing and selling hearing instruments.

Throughout the 60s and 70s, Amplifon expanded its presence in the Italian market by opening up shop throughout Italy.

In the 90s Amplifon became a service provider by developing a unique set of customised services and protocols delivered before and after the hearing aid fitting and sale.

In 1996, always the leader in the search for solutions to hearing loss problems Amplifon introduced the first fully digital hearing aid, never before seen in the Italian market. The device combined small, unobtrusive sizing with high definition sound quality.

From 1992 - 2006, the Group's International expansion,which started with the establishment of Amplifon Iberica, - continued through the acquisition of the major competitors in France, Switzerland, Austria, The United States, Holland and UK.
